Cookie Policy
What are cookies
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your browser to remember information about you between visits. We use them on tangle.io for a small number of specific purposes, described below.
This policy covers the marketing site only. If you’re a Tangle customer, the cookies set inside the Tangle platform itself are governed by your customer agreement.
What we use cookies for
We group cookies into four categories. Each category serves a different purpose.
Essential cookies are needed for the site to work — page rendering, security, remembering whether you’ve dismissed a banner. They’re always on and can’t be turned off.
Analytics cookies let us see how the site is being used at an aggregate level — which pages get traffic, how visitors find us, which content holds attention. We use Google Analytics 4 for this. The data is aggregated; we don’t combine it with personally identifying information unless you’ve identified yourself by submitting a form.
Marketing cookies tie a visit back to a contact record so we can run a sensible sales follow-up — for example, knowing that someone who booked a demo had previously read three pricing pages. We use HubSpot for this.
Functional cookies power features beyond the basics. Right now, this is just our Chatlio live chat widget, which uses a cookie to keep your chat session active across pages.
The actual third parties involved
| Tool | Purpose | Cookie type | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 | Aggregate site analytics | Analytics | Google LLC |
| HubSpot | CRM + visit-to-contact attribution | Marketing | HubSpot, Inc. |
| Chatlio | Live chat | Functional | Chatlio, Inc. |
| Vercel | Site hosting and routing | Essential | Vercel, Inc. |
Each of these is also listed in our Sub-processors page with the categories of data they process, where they process it, and a link to their own privacy policy.
How to manage cookies
You have several ways to control cookies:
- Browser settings. All modern browsers let you block, delete, or warn you about cookies. The setting is usually under Privacy or Site Settings. Note that blocking essential cookies will break parts of the site.
- Google Analytics opt-out. Google publishes a browser extension at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout that opts your browser out of GA across every site.
- Email us. Send a request to privacy@tangle.io and we’ll honor your preference on our side — for example, removing your HubSpot tracking record.
Changes to this policy
When we add or remove a tool that sets cookies, the third-party table above will change and the last_reviewed date at the top of this file will update. Material additions (a new marketing or analytics provider) will be highlighted on this page for at least 30 days.
